Leisurely Cheers Bar Progress Update #1 🍸

This is my first experience building a Super Creator kit, and it’s been pretty fun so far.

All of the little pieces are really cute, and I’ve been enjoying putting the small details together. Since I didn’t feel like dealing with stickers yet, I actually started with the parts that didn’t need them first, so I’m not really following the instruction order exactly.

I did notice a few small defects on some pieces where the plastic looked slightly uneven or oddly extruded, but nothing major enough to stop the build.

The main problem I’ve run into has been with the clear plastic glasses and the super glue. On some of them, you can kind of see where the glue is because it reflects the light differently and just looks like liquid in between the glass and the drink piece. I can mostly live with that part, but there’s one skinny glass with the greenish-yellow drink and lemon slice that I’m much less happy with.

I had trouble dropping the drink piece perfectly into the glass, and it ended up getting a noticeable super glue smudge. I tried gluing the lemon wedge over the area to distract from it, but honestly it didn’t really work.

I don’t know if the glue will look different after it dries and cures fully, but I think this is what it will look like in the end. I don’t know if using sandpaper to try and get the glue marks off will help. I’ve already tried isopropyl alcohol.

If anyone has tips for working with clear plastic pieces or ways to reduce/remove glue smudging, I’d really appreciate it. I’d also love to know if Robotime has any suggestions for situations like this because the rest of the build has been really enjoyable so far.

Wow! I have never built a super creator. The details are very impressive.
I usually use an ultrafine tip for the glue to minimize the smudges.

It’s actually been quite fun and my sister has been building with me. Thanks for the tip. I’ll remember for next time.

Thank you so much!

It looks perfect in the photo; there are no glue stains.

It is one of the many reasons why I enjoy this hobby. You can surely bond with your loved ones while building. My family often talks about this hobby. I’m glad we were able to find something in common to talk about. They even go to meetups with me, believe it or not!

This looks really fun. I haven’t done any SC but this one is pretty cool.
Sorry that I don’t have any clues for reducing the glue marks in plastic. It really is annoying at times.
I have glue removal wipes but I’ve found that sometimes the glue actually marks the plastic.

It looks so great! I’m looking forward to get my set, never made a supercreator set before. And great that you are warning about the glue and clear plastic, so I’m prepared before I start my set

From your reviews, are you gonna buy another super creator? hehe

I keep all of the little sticky dots and strips that have come with any kit. I use those double sided strips for my windows…because they don’t leave streaks and it is easy to control exactly where you place them.

The details on this kit are so realistic.

I’m sorry I can’t help you with your problem. I hope someone in the community does.

Yeah, it’s barely noticeable but it still bothers me. Maybe I’ll just glue it down in a way that you can’t see it when it’s displayed.
