This will be my first completely wax-free mechanical build. For this one. I’m using graphite for any non-visible gears, and PTFE dry lubricant spray for any flat surfaces or any visible moving parts. It’s wonderful. I sprayed it on the side of a gear and on the board that it was being pressed up against once it was dry and spun it and there was no friction whatsoever. The spray dries within a minute of being applied and is completely clear and the surface becomes so slippery but is dry. It doesn’t catch dust, dirt or anything like waxes can.
Here is the PTFE spray. It also has an applicator stray you can attach to the nozzle. This one is specifically made to cater for wood along with everything else that you can use it on.
The model itself has not needed any glue so far other than for a piece of coloured rice paper to go over the inside of a window. The pieces will go together very firmly… in some cases too firmly for fingers, which I’m guessing is why they included the hammer.
The boards are all MDF not ply and not a single piece has chipped paint in removing it.
First electronics test was successful and here is the progress so far.

I may find the same in our summer heat waves. We get stretches of 1 to 2 weeks at a time of around 48°c I think that is about 118° for you. Couple that with stretches of no rain for about 4 or 5 months at the same time.
