Hi,
I’m trying to build the mechanical typewriter, but stuck each time on the same place.
The ribbon does not move when i press a keycap. Nothing happens. I’ve rebuild it with help from the video and can’t find a mistake in my work.
Who can help me?

Maybe @Martins_Assembly_H ? Or @Liset those are the only two that I can recall who have built it. Maybe if you type the word typewriter into the search bar, you may be able to find others. Welcome to the group. I hope you can find what you are looking for
Welcome to the community, I hope someone on here can help you. I haven’t build that one.
Welcome to the community. Please watch the video @Martins_Assembly_H to see where the mistake is.
Welcome to the community, @Masjke73
I haven’t done this and I think it’s a very challenging kit. I hope someone can help you solve this soon!
I believe that during the first test, you need to hold back the small sliding tab that sticks out at the to (the one the upper section will eventually attach to) and you have to do this with quite a bit of force. It is described in the manual.
Welcome to the community! If you send a video of the problem to Robotime, they might be able to provide further guidance. Good luck with your typewriter!
Welcome to the community!
I hope they can help you; I haven’t built that kit myself.
Welcome to the community! Glad that Customer Service was able to assist you. ![]()

My typewriter was going along so well until I was instructed to slide the left side of the roller thru the left side assembly – the pieces on that side assembly feature rectangular holes as opposed to the round hole on the outer piece – the rounded cap and gears on the end of the roller just will not fit thru the rectangular holes in those pieces … trying to fit a round peg through a rectangular hole! Has anyone encountered this? I know I put the side assembly together correctly, according to the instructions. In Martin’s Part 5 video he slides it right thru, smooth as butter! How?
Please provide us with the actual item images so that we can identify the problem.
