First off, thank you to those who followed my progress posts. It’s nice to read the nostalgic feelings and memories that this build invoked amongst many of you. Even my husband, who spent about two years in Dominica as part of his med school program, thought that this store looked like the ones in that country.
Without further ado… here she is.
What products/ brands look familiar to you?
Look at all the candies in the jars and the side wall. As a kid in the Philippines, I still remember popping in stores like this and buy candy for 1 peso.
Or perhaps chili, scrub sponge, condiments, or a jumping rope.
I made the smallest toilet paper ever haha! And of course, you gotta have the essentials - toiletries, toys, stickers etc.
I also remember people hanging their clothes over the balcony of a store.
And the good ol’ fashioned TV antenna.
As time consuming as this build was, I loved every minute of making the tiny store and its products, and rearranging things around as if I’m the owner of the store. I actually kinda felt sad
