It’s amazing how this hobby can bring people together and create such genuine friendships, even when you’ve never met in person. What a thoughtful gesture from him too! You’re definitely blessed to have found such a wonderful community.

I guess he really does appreciate the time I’ve spent checking out his kits, offering advice when he asks and just enjoying watching him build with his little family. I have this sort of relationship with a few others in the FB groups as well. I am happy to be of assistance and grateful that these younger kids come to me sometimes for help. @Melinda

Yes, it was. @Smith42 . He is a very nice young man. A very good father to his son who loves his models. He has done more kits than I have…LOL! I am guessing he is around 35 or so. Has a lovely wife and just loves to build. He shares all of them with me. Today he showed me his whole room(s) full of them. He doesn’t participate here very often, though.

Yes, I am @Gidge I am so happy I discovered the FB group about 3 months after I started building. I was not even painting the first few I did…and then I saw SO many azing models there. That is when I started painting all of mine.

It really is amazing how this community has completely changed the way we approach this hobby. I used to just buy-build-display only.

It’s not just the community @Gidge . It is also FB friends. I have more people that I have known way longer thru FB groups…but yes, it is nice to be in touch with so many from all over the world. That never happened with FB…and FB was the open door for me to find my way here…so for that I am very grateful.

You are correct. This is a fine upstanding young man and yes…I felt very comfortable giving him my address after 2 years of watching him and his family grow and sharing at least 100 messages, photos, reels, etc. . If he was just a ‘follower’…I don’t THINK so! 
I’m so grateful for this lovely community! It’s so nice that people are able to make such nice connections like this.
