Rainbow Candy House is literally eye candy. It is packed with colorful candies and lollipops everywhere. Honestly, if this were a real store, I would 100% check it out.
I displayed it side-by-side with my Henry’s Chocolate and look at that size difference!
Some parts of the build are pretty easy and straightforward, but there were also a few struggles along the way that made me feel like this kit is actually kind of old.
For one, the plastic sheets and some papers aren’t pre-cut, so you have to do everything yourself. The lights were also a bit of a work, you have to assemble the light pin with the rubber and wires on your own. You need to strip the rubber off thin wires just to get them working, which isn’t exactly beginner-friendly. In other kits I’ve built, even the rubber is already prepped for easy removal.
There’s also a lot of wire work involved. I had to cut and bend wires for things like the door handle, candy dispenser handle, sunshade rod and decorative column. I’ve built quite a few miniature houses and this one definitely isn’t among the easiest.
I’m not sure if it’s just my kit, but some of the white paper pieces for the walls had visible stains or discoloration, which made them look a bit old but it’s fine because the wall is covered anyway or cannot be seen at the back. Also, I received a broken part but nothing cannot be fixed by a good glue.
Still, overall, I’d say it felt manageable mainly because, once again, my husband helped out especially with the lighting. Also, there is not much of pieces to be build. It’s mainly composed of a cabinet and a table full of sweets.
In the end, the candy house turned out super cute and colorful so I’d say it was worth it!
