Man, this is way harder then i thought. Working with wood is much easier and more forgiving then plastic as it melts when you glue it.
Making a lot of mistakes but hey im new to do so it will happen.
Things sometimes do not align well and I’m a perfectionist so a lot of voices are going through my mind to just quit but i will finsh it and we will see what the end result will be. It is going to be a post apocalypse model so some dents and crooked
It is called liquid cement from revell. It is supposed to do that. The plastic melts together to become a whole. It is a different technique but I’m getting better at it.
The glue isn’t the problem. Plastic kits are made from molds and are not always 100% correct and can deform over time so i need to cut away some small slices some times or other creative solutions to make it work, same as sanding the tabs with wooden parts.
Yeah it is but i like what it is doing to my mind. I have to constantly think and be creative what i want to do next. The other models started to become automated processes and not a challenge so that is nice.
Yeah that is why the post apocaliptic theme is good to start with. You have more freedom to make mistakes instead like military vehicles that need to be 100 % correct. I also plan on making bullet holes and dents in the outside armer.
I think it’s coming along well! I’m also a perfectionist so I can relate with that feeling of wanting to give up. I’d encourage you to keep going though. It’s looking great!
Aww hey Jerry don’t be so hard on yourself! I know what you mean by being a perfectionist!
Just wanting to say it looks really good! It definitely looks naturally muddy and worn out! And like you said the misalignment, dents and crooks will fit well with the post-apocalypse theme.
