Finished the interior

Man, this is way harder then i thought. Working with wood is much easier and more forgiving then plastic as it melts when you glue it.

Making a lot of mistakes but hey im new to do so it will happen.

Things sometimes do not align well and I’m a perfectionist so a lot of voices are going through my mind to just quit but i will finsh it and we will see what the end result will be. It is going to be a post apocalypse model so some dents and crooked

edges will be oke.

This is really coming along well. I did not know that certain gues would melt hard plastic. What kind of glue are you using

I don’t notice any flaws! What if you used a softer glue?

This is still awesome. But I think this is a challenge for you

Your persistence shows. It’s looking good. And let’s be honest: if it’s a bit dented it just looks well used

It is called liquid cement from revell. It is supposed to do that. The plastic melts together to become a whole. It is a different technique but I’m getting better at it.

The glue isn’t the problem. Plastic kits are made from molds and are not always 100% correct and can deform over time so i need to cut away some small slices some times or other creative solutions to make it work, same as sanding the tabs with wooden parts.

How cool! I have never heard of that…I’ll bet it is even worse than super glue to get off your fingers, though. Ugh.

Yeah it is but i like what it is doing to my mind. I have to constantly think and be creative what i want to do next. The other models started to become automated processes and not a challenge so that is nice.

Yeah that is why the post apocaliptic theme is good to start with. You have more freedom to make mistakes instead like military vehicles that need to be 100 % correct. I also plan on making bullet holes and dents in the outside armer.

Ahh thank you kim. Im doing my best.

Yeah i think there is assitone in it as it smells very strong and the glue reacts to the plastic.

That will look very cool. I’m looking forward to your next updates

No it is very liquid and only dries quick on plastic. Also no glue strings like you have with superglue. Applying the glue is actually the easy part.

WOW! That’s crazy…so it will work ONLY on plastic?..or can it be used for wood, glass, metal as well? I might have to check into this stuff.

Are you not using the correct glue… when i built my star trek enterprise i had a specific glue for the plastic.

I think it’s coming along well! I’m also a perfectionist so I can relate with that feeling of wanting to give up. I’d encourage you to keep going though. It’s looking great!

Aww hey Jerry don’t be so hard on yourself! I know what you mean by being a perfectionist! :weary_cat:

Just wanting to say it looks really good! It definitely looks naturally muddy and worn out! And like you said the misalignment, dents and crooks will fit well with the post-apocalypse theme. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
