[DIY & Creativity] Update #2 Bridal Book Nook

Well, in my previous post, I had started on the flowers. They are not going well at all. I have 3 roses finished out of 44. I did get my little ball flowers completed though. The lotus flowers required lots of folding and cutting which did not work out well.

My first set was OK’ish and then they went downhill from there. I have decided that origami is not my forte. Those are now in the trash

I decided to go ‘old school’ and just one and made my template, then I cut around them. Much better. Since I’ve been very busy with work,

I’ve not had a lot of time for building. I did manage to get a few things done and have now started on my chandelier.

I think I am going to put those flowers off for as long as I can. Anyways…

Ooooh I get that, you thought of a nice solution though using the template. Good luck on the rest of this kit.

I hope the template solution continues to work out for you. I do the same thing with my builds: avoid the difficult part until the very end!

I admire your patience creating the flowers!

Looks can be deceiving… I didn’t think this kit looked so detailed and difficult. I’m sure it will all be worth it once it is complete.

Yes…when you are folding a piece of crepe paper, things just don’t align as they should. @Minus_88

Goodness, that’s a lot of flowers.
I fully intend to cheat when I do this and add my own flowers and a chandelier that I have already bought.
I think you’re doing so well, even with the flowers of the devil as @TheToday is fond of saying.

I hope so too. Those roses though…UGH. I may end up buying some…but it’s hard to find just tiny buds…not fully open roses. @Zoe_Lau

Well…I haven’t dialed up Amazon or Temu…yet…But that could easily change. @Sasa

Omg that’s a lot of flowers! :scream: I wish you good luck on those 44 roses. I think I don’t have talent for origami too since I only have small patience.

Oh yes, they can. The warm Christmas Lodge was quite a challenge (but with NO flowers). I think this one might be my most challenging one yet) IF I decide to make all of my own flowers. @Carmie

Wow, you really have patience with the flowers.

I love those details already. The lilac colour is very nice

They are definitely the devil. I may be on the search for some tiny rose buds…to be honest. @Suzanne_Jones

I wouldn’t blame you at all

Persistence is the key lol…… we teach that to our students at school… 1 flower at a time.

My patience is wearing thin…especially on the roses. @Anje_Leonoza_Mira

40 ROSES! :face_with_bags_under_eyes::face_with_bags_under_eyes: That sounds like a nightmare! I don’t mind doing plants if it’s a bunch of different ones, but 40 of the same one! That sounds terrible!

Nita_Davis I feel you on those lotus folds, some blooms just refuse to cooperate. Your switch to template cutting sounds super smart and those ball flowers already look adorable. That chandelier start is gorgeous too, so take your time and let the roses wait until the muse returns.

This one will certainly be the test of my patience level. @serenebliss_23
