[DIY & Creativity] The prosess of my hat shop

I Wanted to share a bit more of my process behind this little hat shop. I wish I had taken more photos during the process, but there was a lot of trial and error along the way, so I wasn’t always sure if things would work out :see_no_evil_monkey:

I just think it’s a nice way to show that there’s so much you can create yourself, and that we can all inspire each other

It all started with a simple sketch, just trying to figure out how I wanted the layout and where everything should go :pencil:

I started by repainting all the pieces to transform the original kit into something more vintage :artist_palette:

Then I sketched out the floor pattern and painted it tile by tile. It was quite time-consuming, but I think it really made a big difference for the overall look

Next, I started planning the shelves :carpentry_saw:

I had to figure out how I wanted the layout to work and adjust the original structure to fit my idea. This part took a bit of trial and error, but I really enjoyed the challenge :sparkles:

It was one of the more technical parts of the build, but also one of the most satisfying to get right. I used cardboard, wooden sticks, needles and strong glue.

For the hats, I used cardboard cut into small circles as a base :top_hat:

I used small felt balls (cut in half), fabric pieces (some from scrunchies I took apart), ribbons, and decorated them with paper flowers and other small details :sparkles:

Each hat was made by hand, and I tried to give them all their own unique look :yellow_heart:

For the hat stands, I used cardboard that I cut into shape and glued onto toothpicks

It was a simple solution, but it worked really well and helped give the hats a proper display :sparkles:

The small hatboxes its made by paper.

I wish I could show you some process from the mirror, But I will show what I used to make it. For the mirror, I used mirror cardboard that I could cut into shape :scissors:

To create the frame, I wrapped thread around the edges and painted it gold. It was a simple technique, but it added a lot of character to the piece :sparkles:

And yes I had to make my own roof, i couldnt use the ones from the set because I made the shelfes to high. And yes I messed up a few times.

Let me know If you have any questions, or if i forgot something

That really means a lot! I used the Procreate app on my iPad. Just trying out colors or different types of interior. I made some differences when i started the set. But
It was so fun taking it from a simple sketch to the finished piece :pencil::sparkles:
