As we’re starting to have warmer days here in Tahoe, I’ve decided to make my mini blue lake aka Lake Tahoe-the home of the second biggest lake in the US.
I used the sand from Regan beach in South Lake Tahoe to create the shoreline.
I made the large rocks using polymer clay and painted them. Lake water is made of resin. I used blue, white and green pigments to capture the colors of Tahoe.
Nothing like feeling blessed to live in this beautiful mountain town.

Using actual sand from Regan Beach is such a special touch! 
It really grounds the whole piece in reality. The way you mixed the blue, white, and green pigments in the resin perfectly captures that deep, crystal-clear Tahoe water. It’s more than just a model now, it’s a beautiful tribute to your home. Absolutely stunning work!

Your 3D looks so realistic with the blue, green and white color gradient. This bright blue reminds me a big lake in the south of France, in Provence. The lake of Saint-Croix, close to the Verdon gorges, is magnificent and the water so clear.
I went there twice and it is great to if you go there for a swim, riding pedalos, enjoying rafting and canyoning.
But it’s so beautiful that it is crowded, lots of tourists in summer.
