I decided I wanted to start with some smaller builds before moving on to a larger kit, so I picked up three new ones. Two are ships and one is a hot air balloon, and I’m really excited to get started on them.
I chose smaller kits this time so I could finish them a bit quicker while still getting that satisfying feeling of completing a build. After some of my previous projects, it felt like a nice change of pace.
The ships stood out to me because they look more structured and detailed, while the hot air balloon seems more focused on shape and design. I’m interested to see how different the building experiences feel between them.
The second ship is actually for my sister since I recently got her into building these kits too, so it’s been fun having something we can both work on at the same time.
I also like having multiple kits ready so I can switch between them depending on what I’m in the mood for.
For those of you who build smaller kits, do you usually prefer finishing them quickly or taking your time and spacing them out?
Nice choice! Although be careful with those ships. Two tips from my experience:
The gun parts are SO small and fragile, my Sailing Ship doesn’t have any guns on deck because ALL of them broke while trying to put the tiny thin parts through the tiny holes
Be careful when working with the rope, it’s so thin and also it’s easy to mess it with itself, if that makes any sense
I have a couple of the smaller kits in my stash as well. I haven’t built them yet, so can’t offer you any insights.
I really do like the sailing ship so I’m excited to see your build come to life.
