Starbucks should also featured your work.
Your comment made me laugh so much, thank you! My “secret” is really just a lot of trimming, testing, moving pieces around, and pretending I had a clear plan haha. The small display space is exactly what I love about cup-sized builds too. A little series of tiny upcycled scenes sounds really fun! ![]()
Thank you so much! Chagee milk tea cups would be such a beautiful starting point, especially with those elegant Chinese-inspired designs. I can imagine them becoming a tiny tea room or a little lantern-like display. You should definitely try it!
So creative, I wouldn’t have thought to use that! Looks amazing.
Thanks @lanceli i really want to but not sure what to use to make the furniture. I don’t have equipment to use wood and board might not hold out well … any suggestions?
That’s a great question! For a small cup scene, I don’t think you need special tools or real wood at all. You can start with whatever you already have around you: thick packaging card, foam board, coffee stirrers, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, bamboo skewers, or even tiny leftover pieces from old kits. ![]()
For little furniture, I would build the basic shape with card or foam board first, then add coffee stirrers or thin sticks on the outside if you want a wood look. A little acrylic paint, Mod Podge, or clear glue can help make paper pieces stronger too. Since everything is so tiny, you can also glue the furniture to the cup wall or floor so it feels more stable.
But honestly, I think the most important thing is just to start and enjoy the process. Don’t worry too much about whether it will turn out perfectly, or whether every step is controllable. A lot of the fun comes from trying, adjusting, and discovering unexpected little surprises along the way. Use what you have, make a tiny corner first, and let the idea grow from there!

Thanks @lanceli appreciate your advise. Will include it in my line up of things to do soon ![]()
@lanceli, I love the way you have transformed a simple Starbucks carton cup into a (really) tiny warm place with a lot of pastries and bears +++. You really seem to love them. And you have added a light bulb, making it visible in the dark.
You have added
into the cup but you have also decorated your cup with little bear drawings. Where have you found all those little pieces, cakes and bears?
I would also like to customize objects with extra pieces from Robotime I still keep in case of need. I have a lot of idea but no time - work, work… and work.
Great job
.
I love the idea. Very unique and creative.![]()
Thank you so much, Nan-Si! Most of the little cakes, bears, and tiny decorations were not from one single place. They were mostly leftover pieces I had saved from previous miniature or Robotime kits, plus a few small accessories that I trimmed, adjusted, or rearranged to fit inside the cup.
I like keeping those tiny “maybe useful one day” pieces in a small box, and this project was the perfect chance to give them a second life. If you already have extra Robotime pieces, I think you can absolutely customize objects with them. Maybe start with something small after work: choose one container, pick a few tiny pieces that match in color or theme, and build just one little corner first.
It doesn’t need to be finished all at once. Sometimes the best ideas come slowly between work, work… and more work haha! ![]()
