This did not go as fast as expected! Lots of little boxes to wrap. But it is turning out beautifully. I will post the f8nished product soon!
Couple of things I ran into:
-Paint! although not necessary, this was such a pretty street and I did not like seeing the edges. I only have really old paint so I ordered some of the acrylic paint pens. I did go ahead and put things together but I may touch up a few things.
-because I have some touch ups I did not put a few of the ornaments on the little tree.
The ribbon which is like garland got stuck on something and unraveled. As a result, I was a little short but it still looks nice.
I found that there were a few things that required sanding in order to fit on slots.
When placing the store signs, be gentle and push from the bottom. I did crack one a little bit but glue saved me!
Pg 9 B5, 6, 7 I had a hard time getting 7 to fit in, lots of careful sanding!
pg 16, the window! I did not put it in right, did not see there were different tabs. Ended up catching it when I tried to put window on frame! I was able to take a part a little and correct.
pg 17, I put together the windows, added the first shelves (D5) and completely missed D4. It was too late by the time I realized but not really noticable!
A few other pics of the walls.
Oh wow! Thank you for sharing and for those tips. This one is in my “maybe” list for this year’s Christmas decorations so I’ll be sure to keep those in mind!
Even though it’s looking beautiful so far! And hey, why should you go fast? There’s plenty of time before Christmas and remember, this is one of the most beautiful and satisfying “enjoy the process” hobbies there are
Wow, pretty! I have the is one sitting in my backlog, and will probably be doing it some time before Christmas. Thank you for all the tips you’ve shared!
This is what happens when you retire - time is there! So I keep working. Also it was so beautiful I could not wait to see how it would look!
I did slow down a bit but…
It’s looking wonderful already! I love how much care and detail you’re putting into it — those little fixes and touch-ups really make a difference. The street is so charming, and I can’t wait to see the finished result once everything comes together!
