Christmas ideas

Since Robotime encourages us to share other things, I am posting. Would love some input. Know first I have only built kits from Robotime and am pleased with everything. I have not ventured outside of them but have heard some of you mentioning Ugear. I saw this on fb and am wondering if anyone did this or has input?
also @Robotime this is an interesting build! Something along these lines for next year?

I’ve never tried Ugear but I’ve seen them around.

Robotime comes up with so many fantastic designs every year. They don’t need to copy anyone else’s designs. They are usually the one that is being copied. Ugears puzzle boxes are almost completely identical to Rolife’s old series.

This is old? I never saw this. I am pretty new to all of this though which is a) why I ask and b) have stuck with Rolife thus far

I have not seen this one before..but if it is Ugears, I am not very fond of their models.

No. The design you posted here is new as far as I am aware. I’m saying Ugears sometimes copies old Rolife designs like the puzzle boxes.

I didn’t mean to come off as unkind. I just know Rolife designers work hard to make original designs. They should never need to copy anyone else.

If you end up getting the set I would be curious to see how it goes for you. You have such a great Christmas collection.

These are the puzzle boxes I was referring to. It’s an old design from ROKR.

I appreciate this reply. I was a little taken back but you clarified for me and I appreciate! I love Robotime and all that they do which is why I have not ventured away from. I feel like I read some horror storeis and like a waste of money with other kits. But I saw that and thought it looked pretty. I do not want to chance it though if not very trustworthy!!
Thanks

Thanks @Nita_Davis
I do not want to waste my money on something that has less quality. I have been very happy overall with Robotime!
Appreciate your input!

Im not saying it is of bad quality. The pieces are very thick and hard to work with. That’s all. @jeanneL …AND they are way overpriced, in my opinion.

You’re so right lol Cathy’s Greenhouse and Dora’s Loft had so many copies throughout the years.

I mainly work with Robotime but I’ve bought some other kits only because they have the design I wanted and Robotime has the best quality by far.

Not sure about book nooks and ROKR stuff.

I agree @Nita_Davis . They are quite over priced and their collections are far less than what Robotime have.

I personally love ROKR kits. Very nice quality and a little challenging

Got it! Thanks for clarification!

I’ve done quite a few 3rd party kits, because sometimes they have some pretty cute designs, but I always come back to Robotime! I think they have the best instruction manuals. Sometimes third party kits make you do stuff in a weird way lol. Not that I haven’t enjoyed the third party kits at all.. lol, I actually have a good backlog of third party kits too!:sweat_smile: Robotime’s electrical aspects are the highest quality I’ve seen out of all the kits, with proper heat shrink on the LED’s and stuff.

I still yet to try UGear, however I had a lot of fun doing Cutebee sets! The instructions on the Rolife kits is better… The quality is not bad… Tonecheer i want to try

You’re welcome @jeanneL

Oh, I’ve never seen this design before. It’s so pretty!

I thought so too. But not by Robotime so I am a little leary. I keep seeing it on fb.

Never tried UGears but from the picture it looks kind of small? Do you think this moves?
