When splitting wood I use a cutter rather than using my hands to break it, which can cause scratches or breakage. Scratches that are different from the paint color are very ugly, and then I have to paint the same color. Then I use sandpaper to smooth it out.

I do this too! Nice trick @arttoysmodelshowcase!

I use also a knife, but o With my latest build, I discovered that if you gently move the wood back and forth, it comes loose easily. The splinters are therefore minimal.
