Yeah, I did that one in another kit! The one that’s like a frame—that system is easier. The bonsai one is worse, haha—you’ll see if you do this kit.
I have used this method to build a bonsai tree for my desk & I know it isn’t easy

Muahuaaa, totally understandable
It’s a pain, haha. If the metal cable were thinner and more manageable… but once you have that much cable bunched up, it’s impossible, haha.
I actually had no issue with this but one of my other kits had a bunch of these. Needle nose pliers can help

Lucky you—mine ends up really bulky; I can’t twist it properly or get it to lie that flat. Thanks for the tip; next time I’ll use pliers!

Honestly, I think every miniature builder has at least one plant that refuses to cooperate. 
Did it finally behave, or is your bonsai still doing its own thing?

My bonsai is modernist! Hahaha (it’s still the same).
Tomorrow I’ll show the result with the leaves; they didn’t fit properly because the size and shape weren’t right, so I had to arrange them randomly—haha—but it looks more camouflaged that way.

I like plants but do it hard
I take really good care of real plants! I have a real knack for it—my mother was a florist and ran her own flower shop for years—but the plants in the kits just give me a hard time, hahaha.
My mother is suprise when see me do it
Hahaha! I love that… “modernist bonsai” sounds much fancier than “it didn’t go according to plan.” Sometimes those happy little accidents end up looking more natural anyway. I’m really looking forward to seeing it with the leaves tomorrow. I have a feeling it’ll all come together beautifully!

You’re so lucky! Mine had better not look, because I’m a total disaster at that.
It wasn’t always lucky. I hurt my hand while making those trees.
i did one of these for the flower frame and in the build i am doing now there is also one, so on the frame i just asked my husband how i needed to do it and he ended up doing it, so will try to do it myself on the kit i am building now

Hang in there! The problem with this one is that it doesn’t go straight—going straight would be easier—but instead, it goes sideways and slips into a tiny hole… I hope yours turns out better than mine!
