So now I’m curious… how are you all using your collection area? Have you found any tricks for organizing it, or are you just letting it be one big list?

Is Your Collection Tab Actually Working For You

I thought I had this whole collection thing figured out… and then I realized I might be doing it completely different than everyone else.

I’ve been spending some time getting my collection area set up, and now I’m really curious how everyone else is using theirs.

Are you only adding Robotime kits, or are you mixing in everything you build? And when you add something, are you uploading photos of your finished builds, or just keeping the box images?

I decided to only track my Robotime kits here, and it’s actually turned into a really handy system. If there’s no photo, that means I own it but haven’t built it yet. If there is a photo, it’s complete. Super simple, and it works surprisingly well when I’m trying to remember what I already have.

One thing I did run into that had me scratching my head for a bit was adding photos. I kept selecting a picture and hitting save right away, and then it just wouldn’t show up. What finally worked for me was waiting about 10 seconds after selecting the photo, while it’s sitting there on the screen before hitting save. If I give it that little bit of time, it loads properly almost every time.

The one thing I keep wishing for is better organization. I haven’t figured out a way to sort, group, or categorize anything yet. Folders or tags would be amazing, especially as the collection grows.

So now I’m curious… how are you all using your collection area? Have you found any tricks for organizing it, or are you just letting it be one big list?

I store images of each model in a folder named after the model. I update the list of models in an Excel file. From there, I can see what I’ve done. And when someone needs images or assistance, I can find them immediately.

I admit that I haven’t tried the collection tab yet. But thanks for the heads up about loading the photos.

It’s getting me to actually photograph my collection, which I have neglected to always do. We have a town-wide yard sale coming up, so I’d like to put a few of my older completed “built as-is” kits up for sale as I don’t have room to display all of my builds! So I like that the list is getting me organized.

I’m also putting in notes if I modded the kits in any way as a reminder to myself of what I did. So I’m a big fan of the list thus far.

I have not tried it yet. Based on the new update, I have only tried the spin.

I only upload Rolife items.

I also upload Nanci dolls and other collections.

That way I have a detailed list of what I currently own.

Although my list isn’t very long.

And the other list, I use as a wish list.

Oh good idea to add Nanci!

I used to use an app to keep track of my orchids collections. but overtime with new updates for the device, the app doesn’t work too well. So I am looking for another app to keep track. At the moment, all builds are kept in my brain.

I actually haven’t used the collection feature yet. It’s cool to see how you’re using yours though. I might have to adopt your strategy.

I have not started yet. But I know I need to
