📖 [ROKR Journey] Update 1 Musical Harp

This is gonna be the first time coloring a building. I’m using sharpies tho so it’ll prob wouldn’t look as clean, but it’s smooth sailing so far. I’m currently eating dinner

so great

Are sharpies better than a real paint? I am planning to paint my ROKR kits

I’m not sure, since I’ve never painted my builds before. But sharpie isn’t as clean compared to paint builds I’ve seen from others. The sharpies bleed into the wood :eyes:

That’s noted. Thank you!

Did you color it before or after assembling? It’s a nice choice of color.

You can try to paint the unused wood so you can test it. I prefer acrylic paint more for me because you can only use markers on few projects but both medium are great. The downside of acrylic is you need to coat more colors so the colors will look smooth.

Thank you for this. Or maybe I can go and try a different marker? Since I think marker is more way easy than paint

You’re welcome. I’ve used markers before but on my drawings and yes, it bleeds. If you overlap the colors, the colors will be darker than the other ones. I think you will have a hard time if the tip of your marker is too thick then you will be applying that on small things but you can try.

I’m coloring before assembling :eyes:

We’re doing the same since it’s harder to color the kits when fully assembled. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Looking nice btw. Putting colors really do magic on the physical appearance of the kits. It looks more lively and beautiful.

I have painted over 100 models…and I use mainly bottled paints and a brush. Cheaper and they go SO much further. If your marker runs out during a build, you have to order a whole new set. @Anje_Leonoza_Mira

Looking great.

You’re off to a great start. I like the colours you’ve chosen for the base.
And look at you multitasking! I would have spilt my dinner on something important, I’m sure.

Great job :clap:t2:

I think it turned out really natural but in a good way! Couldn’t imagine it was coloured using a Sharpie if I didn’t read the post.

You’re welcome. :pink_heart:

Good start & enjoy the assembling
