[Relaxing Moment] Beginning the legend of the blue sea

I’ve been quite busy with the dogs and painting work here at the house I am staying at. I have struggled a lot with my glittering water lilies so I took a break and started on this little thing. It’s a normal size build, nothing like the tiny miniature I recently finished. Everything is still DIY and so today I upholstered furniture. It was my first time doing something like that and it was quite enjoyable.

I love that sofa! Looks so summery vibes

I have this one in my stash. Mines under a different name though (summer by the sea). Im looking forward to seeing your updates on it. Your couch turned out so nice

It’s a nice kit. Can’t wait to see your finish

I thought so too. I have seen several posted in a different Facebook group other than the real life group and I finally decided to dig in and get it. It’s got some really cool stuff in there. A lot of cutting as well @Grey74

I really like the blue and white color scheme already. It has such a fresh coastal feel, and I love the look of the cushions! They turned out great for a first attempt. I hope taking a break with this build helps you recharge a bit.

Thank you very much @Zoe_Lau . There is a lot of work in this one and I have only just begun.

@Nita_Davis switching to this coastal build sounds like a good reset after the glittering water lilies. The first upholstered furniture pieces already have such a fresh blue-and-white feel, and it is great that the process gave you something new to enjoy. We hope the rest of this little seaside scene keeps being a relaxing break.

Omg this is so adorable… love the nautical colour scheme.

These dogs and my painting around the house where I am has kept me very busy. Thank you for your kind words. I was pretty happy with that sofa as well @Anje_Leonoza_Mira

Thank you so much @Smith42 . I was very happy with the way my lines turned out with the upholstery fabric. I only wish that I had paid more attention to making my Folds on the inner edges instead of the top of two of the cushions. Just something to think about when you start on yours

Thank you for the tip, I’ll definitely keep that in mind

Thanks so much, Nicole. This is another one that will take quite a while.

You are my welcome :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed: :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:

What a beautiful kit; it really reminds me of Greece.

Oooh nice. I have this in the stash under my desk. I fell in love with the beach tower lol

I really like the colors in this model. I was very happy with how my upholstery lines met up pretty good but I was bummed that I didn’t have my folded seams on the back cushions to decide. I wasn’t paying that much attention I guess. If I have enough fabric, I might do them over @Kim_Kieffer

Nice work!! What’s been giving you difficulty on your water lily build? I would’ve assumed that would’ve been an easier build than this one you just started!
