Stories We Built: Our September 19 Rolife Meetup
30 slots. 19 new faces. 11 familiar ones. So many stories built.
Our September 19 Robotime DIY & Crafting Club Philippines Meetup was one for the books!
All 30 slots were filled, although there were quite a few cancellations as the day approached — even two cancellations the night before! Thankfully, we had an eager waitlist ready to jump in, and we were able to welcome 19 new participants and 11 past participants to the meetup.
Some were so excited that they arrived two hours before the event even started! ![]()
This was my first time handling a crowd this big, and I honestly don’t think I could have done it without my family. My husband, kids, niece and nephew even my sis and bro in law were there to help me set everything up. The function room was huge, which meant my son had plenty of space to run around while we were busy preparing, while my daughter kept herself entertained writing and drawing on the whiteboard. ![]()
Before we knew it, the registration area was ready, complete with the different Robotime kits participants could choose from.
Our theme for this meetup was “Build Your Story” because I wanted everyone to discover just how many different experiences Robotime has to offer — from miniatures and book nooks to mechanical builds and so much more.
And then there was the Stories We’ve Built showcase.
Our past participants brought their precious finished builds, displaying them one by one for everyone to admire. As the new participants started arriving, you could see their eyes light up as they looked around the room. There was so much excitement and curiosity as everyone took in all the beautiful builds.
Special thanks to all our past participants who brought their beautiful builds and shared the stories behind them.
Your creativity, passion, and personal touches made our Stories We’ve Built showcase extra special. ![]()

Thank you for inspiring our new builders and showing us that every build has a story worth sharing.
Then it was time to begin.
I welcomed everyone and introduced them to the amazing company behind it all — Robotime. And even though this was already my 8th meetup, my voice still cracked because my heart was beating so fast!
Thankfully, my husband was right there reminding me to slow down and handing me some water. Everyone had a good laugh about it, and somehow, that made the moment even more memorable.
After introducing Robotime, I introduced our past participants and their builds. Each builder shared a little about their creation and the story behind it — which felt especially meaningful because Build Your Story was exactly what our meetup was all about.
Everyone then received a heart sticker to vote for their favorite build while collecting their chosen kits and dropping their raffle stubs.
And then… it was time to BUILD! ![]()
The room became surprisingly quiet as everyone focused on their kits. Our projector played Robotime videos featuring meetups from around the world and showcasing the incredible variety of Robotime builds.
Slowly, strangers started talking.
They exchanged stories, shared tips, and even talked about where to find the best bargain deals. Soon, snacks were served, and we handed out Suri blind boxes to participants who shared their meetup experience on social media. We also raffled off Nanci blind boxes, which became such a fun little ice breaker! ![]()
As I walked around the room, I was so happy seeing everyone’s progress — especially those who were building for the very first time. Watching people who had never met before become comfortable enough to chat, help each other, and share their love for DIY was one of my favorite parts of the day.
Eventually, it was time to pack up and announce our final winners.
For 2nd Place, we had Miller’s Garden by @joy.licerio — such a charming build that clearly showed the amount of time, patience, and effort that went into creating it. ![]()
And taking 1st Place was the Space Shuttle by @Marisa_Lhiz ! ![]()
Everyone was amazed by its lights and movement. It quickly became a crowd favorite and definitely one of the most talked-about builds of the day.
Finally, everyone gathered for one last group photo before saying their goodbyes.
And that moment — seeing everyone smiling, laughing, carrying their finished builds, and leaving happy — made all the preparation worth it.
This meetup was a little bigger, a little more challenging, and definitely a little more nerve-wracking for me. But it was also incredibly fulfilling.
Another beautiful meetup. Another group of stories built. Another reminder of why I love bringing this community together.
I am forever grateful to @Robotime for making this event possible and to everyone who came, built, shared, laughed, and made the day so special.
Until our next story… Build • Connect • Inspire.
