Every autumn, when the leaves turn to gold and the Pumpkin Moon rises, a little woodland cottage comes alive with magic… 
I’m so excited to finally share my finished entry for Robotime’s Autumn Customization Event! I transformed my original Fluffy Grove miniature house kit into Pumpkin Moon at Fluffy Grove: a whimsical woodland hideaway filled with autumn colors, handmade details and a storybook atmosphere 
I wanted to do more than add a few seasonal decorations. My vision was to reimagine the entire miniature as an enchanted woodland cottage where autumn lives in every corner, from the colorful forest floor to the leafy rooftop and cozy dining room inside
The Transformation: Reimagining Fluffy Grove
Starting with the original kit, I transformed Fluffy Grove into a completely different autumn world. I painted many of the original kit pieces in warm fall colors, changing the overall palette. Then, I added layers of decorations, textures and miniature accessories to bring my vision to life
The original green base became a woodland floor covered in autumn foliage. The rooftop evolved into a mossy canopy filled with greenery, colorful leaves, tiny pinecones and some small fall flowers. Inside, I created a cozy fall inspired dining area with a handmade washi tape rug, tiny table placemats and autumn pictures.
I also added two little pumpkins, tiny bats, a fall wreath for the door and my own custom Pumpkin Moon sign to give the cottage a unique identity and connect the decorations to the story behind my miniature
Every change was intentional. I wanted the painted pieces, handmade details, natural textures and added accessories to work together as one cohesive scene rather than feel like separate decorations
The original kit gave me the foundation, but painting, layering and adding my own creative touches allowed me to turn it into a little autumn world that reflects my personal style and imagination. I’m especially proud that the transformation extends throughout the entire build, from the interior all the way across the rooftop and surrounding landscape
The Story Behind Pumpkin Moon
Deep within an enchanted woodland lies Fluffy Grove, a little cottage tucked beneath a canopy of moss, vines and colorful autumn leaves
Most of the year, it’s a quiet place where woodland creatures wander through the trees and mushrooms peek out from beneath the greenery. But once every autumn, something magical happens
As the sun disappears behind the forest, a glowing amber moon rises above the treetops. Its warm golden light falls across the woodland floor, illuminating the pumpkins, turning the leaves to shimmering shades of copper and gold and making the little cottage glow against the evening sky
The woodland creatures call it the Pumpkin Moon
Legend says this is the one special evening when everyone is invited to gather at Fluffy Grove. The cottage becomes a cozy meeting place filled with warmth, friendship and the simple joys of autumn
Inside, a gingham covered dining table is ready for a gathering of woodland friends. Tiny placemats decorate the table, a fall-inspired rug warms the dining area and autumn pictures hang on the walls. Outside, pumpkins sit among the leaves, a wreath welcomes visitors at the door and little bats flutter through the woodland air
Above it all, the leafy rooftop blends into the forest, with vines, greenery, tiny pinecones and colorful leaves covering the cottage like a woodland canopy
Beside the entrance, the Pumpkin Moon sign marks the place where the magic happens!
To me, Pumpkin Moon represents everything I love about autumn: cozy evenings, the beauty of nature changing around us and the feeling that even the smallest place can hold an extraordinary story. I wanted anyone looking at this miniature to imagine who lives here, what happens beneath that leafy roof and what it might feel like to visit on the night the Pumpkin Moon rises 
The Biggest Challenge: Every Little Leaf
One of the most challenging parts of this customization was getting all the tiny leaves to stick to the base!
It took so much patience to get them to stay in place while creating the layered blanket of fall foliage I had envisioned. With so many individual leaves to arrange, it was a much more time consuming process than I initially expected
I wanted the ground to look like a real woodland clearing in autumn, not simply a flat surface with decorations scattered across it. Combining the leaves with the plastic 3D leaves helped create the texture and dimension I was looking for!
There were definitely moments when I wondered how I was going to get everything to stay where I wanted it but I kept going because I knew the landscape was such an important part of bringing my vision to life
Looking at the finished cottage surrounded by all those colorful leaves made the patience worthwhile! This challenge reminded me that sometimes the smallest details require the most persistence and those little details can make the biggest difference in a finished miniature 
The Little Details That Brought it to Life
The Enchanted Canopy: I added vines and greenery across the roof, layering the mossy surface with colorful autumn leaves. I wanted the cottage to feel as though it had naturally become part of the surrounding forest
A Woodland Floor in Full Autumn: I decorated the base with individual leaves and plastic 3D leaves in warm shades of orange, red, rust and gold. Combining the different textures helped create a fuller, more dimensional landscape
Pumpkin Moon Details: Two tiny pumpkins and my custom Pumpkin Moon sign bring the story to life and give this little woodland cottage its own identity
A Little Halloween Magic: Tiny bats add a whimsical, slightly mysterious touch while keeping the overall atmosphere cozy and enchanting
A Festive Welcome: A fall wreath on the door makes the cottage feel like a real woodland home
A Cozy Dining Room: I created a miniature dining room rug using washi tape, added tiny placemats to the dining table, and decorated the interior with fall pictures. I wanted the autumn theme to continue inside, so the cozy details would feel just as intentional as the decorations outside
I love how these details work together to create a miniature that feels like one complete world. Every area has its own little discoveries but they all contribute to the same autumn story
A Little Piece of my Imagination
One of my favorite things about miniature customization is that it allows me to turn an idea in my imagination into a tiny world I can actually bring to life. Sometimes, a single idea inspires an entire collection of details
With this project, I challenged myself to think about the story behind the miniature not just its looks. I wanted someone looking at Fluffy Grove to imagine who lives here, what happens here and what makes this little cottage special
That’s what makes creating miniatures so meaningful to me: every tiny detail becomes an opportunity to tell a story. The original kit gave me the foundation but the painted pieces, textures, handmade additions and Pumpkin Moon legend allowed me to create a world that reflects my own imagination and love for cozy details
