Where to Buy ROKR Mirai MI06: Shops
“Hey, loser, what are you doing? We’re about to end up rotting in t his cursed water!”
The violent jolt snaps you awake. Who said that? All you know is that you’re deep beneath the ocean’s surface, where even the amber light cannot cut through the suffocating black.
“Did you get knocked stupid? Snap out of it. I’m not dying here with you. Dive, now!”
Your mind is still foggy, but instinct takes over. You push the control stick forward, pectoral fins flaring as you plunge downward to evade whatever it was.
You cannot quite see it. Only the grinding, teeth-like scrape against your hull tells you that one wrong move would end you in this endless darkness, in water so foul the purifiers cannot mask its stench.
“Thanks, MARAI.”
You remember now. Your partner was a manta ray, now rebuilt with AI and steel. No flesh remains, but somehow he kept the gift of human speech.
You cannot recall exactly when the world became like this. The elders say tsunamis came one after another, leaving just one percent of Earth’s land above water. The Himalayas became the last great marketplace. That is where you are headed, to find an energy core known as Sleeping Heart.
Blue, deep blue, and red warning lights flicker in rapid succession. They are meant to gauge your distance from obstacles, yet now they feel like a countdown, life or death flashing in pulses of color.
“MARAI, engage burst mode. Get us out of here.”
Twin thrusters roar to life, tail fins overclocking. Speed climbs to sixty-six percent above safe limits.
“You little brat, welcome back. Let’s get out of this deathtrap together.”
You weave through the obstacles, adrenaline pounding. It feels like you are in the clear, until you see it ahead. The Green Net. In this age, it is the ocean’s death notice. Countless machines have been swallowed by it, and now it is waiting for you.
They say it is a relic from history, usually found near the few scraps of remaining land. Yet here it is, hunting you in open water.
Your hull begins to peel away under the strain. MARAI tears off his own six armored plates, wrapping them around you to form an escape pod. The crushing deep cannot flatten you, but the cockpit fills with the stench of rot, making your chest seize.
“Go to the Himalayas. Find the Sleeping Heart. It is the only thing that can save the future.”
“No, MARAI. Don’t you dare leave me.”
18 years together, and only now do you feel the headset biting into your skull. Or perhaps it is your heart. The shrill cockpit alarm screams in your ears. Is this really the end?
Then the urgent sound of a ringtone. You wake with a start. It was a dream.
On your nightstand sits the ROKR Manta Ray. You press the button. Its wings stir and the red-blue breathing lights flash, pulling you back to that life-or-death escape under the waves.
But in the real ocean, manta rays do not need steel bodies or human speech. Their story might begin with something as small as a plastic bottle on a beach.
And now it is your choice.
-
Toss it into the sea.
-
Drop it in the trash.
MIRAI — The name comes from Manta Intelligent Ray AI, and in Japanese, it means “future.” ROKR hopes to look ahead to the future of AI while cherishing the beauty of nature today.
Sleeping Heart — The “core” in a post-apocalyptic world. ROKR hopes this will awaken our “sleeping heart” to protect the ocean environment.
The dangers MIRAI encounters in the story:
- Teeth-like Scrape — The grating sound of plastic bottle caps colliding with the body. ROKR calls on everyone: Don’t toss plastic bottles into the ocean!
- The Green Net — A fishing net drifting in the sea. ROKR urges: Say no to overfishing!
