My idea for a new model idea is a weather station. I used AI to create it. I don’t think I’ve seen one like this before. I would also probably color it because I’ve been doing that with my models that are plain. Here is how the model would work:
"Turning the handle sets a beautifully synchronized chain reaction of mechanical linkages and eccentric cams into motion. Because this is designed as an interactive forecast tracker, turning the hand crank causes different parts of the vignette to move depending on which way the dial is pointed:
- The Dropping Rain Linkages: On the left, a hidden camshaft behind the dial pushes fine wire and wood linkages up and down. This causes the blue wooden raindrops to cascade in a staggered, realistic wave pattern, mimicking a steady downpour beneath the shifting slate-gray storm clouds.
- The Unfurling Solar Flares: On the right, turning the handle engages a set of planetary gears behind the sun. As the main body rotates slightly, nested layers of golden-yellow solar rays mechanically expand and retract, making the sun look as though it is actively pulsing with heat and light.
- The Central Forecast Dial: The main brass hands and the central green dial slowly turn, clicking into place to point toward the active weather setting (Clouds, Rain, Storm, Sun, or Snow).
- The Wind Direction Tracker: At the very top, a tiny wooden weather vane and wind-speed indicator spin in direct relation to how fast you turn the crank, adding a layer of rapid kinetic motion to balance the slower, heavier gear movements below."
Hopefully I’m posting this in the right place. If not, please let me know where and how to post. It can be difficult to navigate the Robotime Community.
