How can I find the scale of a kit?

I want to make my own french boxes and packages in the Gingerbread Christmas house , so replace the ones that are included. But in order to do so, I’m trying to find the scale of this kit. But it’s not written on the back side of the box.

Does anybody know whether this kit is scale 1:16, 1:18 or maybe another scale?

It’s already difficult for me to find templates and try to convert them to the correct scale but when you have absolutely no idea whatsover to which scale I should look for to begin with it makes it very hard.

Thank you for your help

I’m not sure. You can ask @Robotime

The Rolife Gingerbread House (DG176) is built to a 1:18 scale. [1]

Key Details

  • Scale: 1:18
  • Assembled Size: 9.25 x 6.89 x 8.66 inches (23.5 x 17.5 x 22 cm)
  • Piece Count: 250 pieces
  • Assembly Time: Approximately 6 hours

I used a Google search.

If you’re not sure what scale it is, you can find out by measuring a familiar object, like a door, and divide its real-life size by the miniature size. For example, 200 cm ÷ 10 cm = 20, so you’re looking at roughly 1:20 scale. :slightly_smiling_face: hope this helps

@Helga there are calculators online to determine this also, just google it

Thank you, I have no idea why I couldn’t find this

That is a great idea as well @Gidge

You are very welcome. Happy to assist.

I googled. And, as per google - If you mean the Rolife Gingerbread House DG176, the official product information lists it as 1:18 scale. So I’d start with 1:18 templates and packaging rather than 1:16. That should make converting your French boxes and packages much easier!

Oh, I’ve never customized a kit; perhaps those who do customize them can help you better.

What a lovely idea to add custom French packaging, @Helga. It looks like the community has already helped answer your question, but if you’re still unsure, you can always send a direct message to Robotime support. Best of luck with your build!

The Robotime/Rolife website usually lists the scale in the description of the product.

I see other people in the community have already provided an answer. I can’t wait to see your final build!

oops, looks like I didn’t check the site correctly. Sorry to bother everybody. Though I see that it might help others, like @Melinda, too, to ask this question from time to time
