This post is long overdue Life has been busy lately with my son taking his Kindergarten exam then hosting my husband’s birthday last weekend. So yes, so busy that I haven’t get the chance to post about our projects
We both were able to finish our builds in 2 hours. They were so fun to assemble. It’s both our first time to work on a plastic mechanical build.
I can’t really share what my husband did because I was busy with my own so I will only be sharing my process in building the Starry Camellia.
First step was to build the base/vase of the flower. This is where the mechanism will be hidden. Instructions were straight forward and easy to follow.
Once that was done, the flower was next. The kit has provided wax which you will apply on the stem so the petals can be snapped on easily. The clicking sound when attaching each petal is so satisfying
You can adjust the brightness of the light by moving the snail which is such a cool feature.
The flower is suppose to breath - meaning it should open and close but it’s not really doing much of that in my opinion. Maybe I messed up something somewhere but I’m not sure.
My only cons for this is that I wish it has a rechargeable power source. It would be a lovely night lamp is it was rechargeable.
I have yet to take a video of this in action. I will post it once I get a chance. Thanks for reading my post
It is so wonderful to see you and your husband finding time to bond over these builds amidst such a busy schedule. Congratulations to your son on his Kindergarten exam and a happy belated birthday to your husband as well. We are thrilled that you both enjoyed your first experience with our plastic mechanical kits and finished them so quickly.
Glad that you’re enjoying with your Camelia the flower is blooming but slowly and I’ve upload on my IG before the step… if yours not work out maybe you can take a look…
It’s a competitive school where her sister currently goes. They only admit 40 kids out of thousands that apply, so wish us luck. Results will be out on May 15 so keeping our fingers crossed till then.
This is such a lovely he and she project. I really like that you both finished your builds together, and the Starry Camellia looks so prettyyy . The little snail feature for the light is such a cute detail too hehe
