I was just looking at the kit to see if I would customize a bit more. Not really sure if I would. Just sand all of edges well. I use a light colored stain…or even no stain. It appears that the woods are of different colors, so you may not need to stain at all. I just buy a spray can of lacquer. I would spray and light sand all of the pieces while still together. Lightly sand again before adding your second coat for a smooth finish. I would probably spray another coat after assembling @Jill_Francisco NOTE: Lacquer MUST be sprayed outside.

Congratulations Sue! :pink_heart: I just received mine today and I’m genuinely surprised at how heavy it was. Silly me thought it would’ve come all ready built. :laughing:

I’m currently on the fence. I think I’m too lazy to customise this so I’m very looking forward to what you do with yours. :wink:

I started today but I’ve out it down because one side won’t go on properly. I thought it was because I’ve been customising but I tried the other side as well (that wasn’t customised) and it is hard to get in as well. I might pick it up again later.

I am using furniture marker on the darker wood to deepen the colour. I will also use a gloss varnish on a lot of the build.
