Do You Build With Extra Light or Magnification

I was lucky because I already had a good lighting setup from cross stitch, so I just reused it when I started building miniatures. It made a huge difference from the very beginning, especially when working with the tiny details.

I used to enjoy embroidery and cross-stitching as well. I haven’t done it in over 20 years though. It was a fun hobby for a while.

It’s so different now than it was decades ago, I think the patterns and the designs are much more interesting and there’s so many.

I agree with you 100%. I just have a lot more fun doing the wooden models and no pricked fingers.. LOL

I always appreciate having a good space while building. I would love to set up a proper space for it one day. at the moment I enjoyed building from my couch or my bed etc.

I use an extra lamp and I have a small magnifying glass in my tool kit for getting a closer look at the instructions.

I don’t necessarily use extra lighting. I just make sure I’m working under a bright light so I don’t strain my eyes.

No that isn’t happening with me, I build in room light & never felt need of extra light & not even magnification

I hope you get your dedicated space one day! Until then, I think it’s great that you’ve found a setup that lets you keep building wherever you’re comfortable. :pink_heart:

That’s a great combination. It’s nice having the magnifying glass nearby for those moments when you need a closer look without having to use it all the time.

Good lighting really makes a difference, even if it’s just the room lighting. Anything that helps reduce eye strain is worth it.

That’s wonderful! I think it’s great that you’ve found a setup that’s comfortable for you. Everyone seems to have their own way of building.

I usually only need extra light, but it makes such a big difference. Good lighting helps me enjoy the build much more without feeling like I’m fighting with the tiny details.
