I’ve been customizing Becka’s Baking House into a candy shop, and honestly… this project has been much harder than I expected.

I’ve struggled to come up with ideas, and I’ve scrapped most of what I’ve made because I just wasn’t happy with it. A lot of the decorations have to be made from scratch, so I’ve been making things, running to the craft store, deciding I don’t like them, throwing them away, and then going back to buy more supplies. Let’s just say this little candy shop has become more expensive than I planned!

July has also been a busy month in general. I’ve been traveling, spending time with family, dealing with severe dehydration, working, and volunteering in charity work. I work as an online chat listener, offering anonymous conversations to people who simply need someone to talk to.
Summer can be a difficult time for many people. Friends and family may be away on vacation, and doctors and therapists often have reduced availability. It’s a good reminder that someone around us might need a little extra kindness and support this time of year.

But today finally feels like a small victory.

After countless ideas, changes, and do-overs, I’ve finished this candy counter, and for the first time, I’m genuinely happy with the result. This one is staying!

It was made using clear plastic film, foam balls, wooden sticks, and UV resin.

Seeing it finally come together has given me the motivation to keep going, and I’m excited to continue building this little candy world.
