[DIY & Creativity] A Relaxing Outdoor DIY with Leftover ROWOOD Flowers and an Old Bottle Carrier

Hi everyone! :blush:Thank you so much for all the kind words and encouragement on my last two DIY posts. They really made me want to keep experimenting with more little “second life” projects. :bottle_with_popping_cork: :bottle_with_popping_cork: :bottle_with_popping_cork:

This time, the starting point was a discarded handheld beer carrier. I also had some damaged ROWOOD wooden flower pieces that I had collected from a store. Some stems were bent, some flowers had come loose, and they were not perfect enough to display as single stems anymore.

But the colors still felt too pretty to waste. So on a nice weekend afternoon, I took everything outside and started rebuilding them into a small flower basket.

The beer carrier already had a strong shape, with little bottle holes and a handle, so I tried to let the flowers grow around that structure instead of hiding it completely.

I used ROWOOD wooden flowers again for this project, mixing larger pink blooms with smaller flowers, leaves, and little filler pieces. The hardest part was balancing the arrangement: I wanted it to look full and relaxed, but still keep the original beer carrier visible.

When I added my pink wine bottle, the whole piece suddenly felt like a tiny weekend picnic basket. It made me really happy seeing these damaged flower pieces and an old carrier become something cheerful again.
A sunny weekend, a small outdoor chair, a few imperfect flower pieces, and one old carrier somehow turned into a very cheerful little corner.
I also tried it indoors, and now I am already imagining the next step: adding warm lights so it can glow at night too. I think that might give it a completely different feeling.

Would you keep it as a flower-and-wine basket, or should I turn it into a little glowing night garden next? :sparkles: :sparkles: :sparkles:

I absolutely love this! :yellow_heart: Turning damaged pieces and something that would have been thrown away into such a beautiful display is so creative. I also love that you kept part of the beer carrier visible because it tells the story of the transformation. And if you ask me… definitely add the warm lights! I think it would look absolutely magical in the evening.

This is truly amazing!! It’s so beautiful

That’s exactly what I’m leaning toward too, Suzanne. It has been raining so much lately, so this one sunny weekend made the pink basket feel just right as it is, haha. I may save the warm-light idea for another color carrier.

Sasa, now you’ve made me see it as a wedding basket, haha. I still have a few carriers in other colors, so maybe one of them can become a more celebratory version with matching ROWOOD flowers and little lights.

Yes, it really was one of those rare nice afternoons lately, haha. It has been raining so much that I almost treated the sunshine like part of the material list. I’m leaning toward keeping this pink one as it is and using the other color carriers for the next experiments.

Seeing you say that makes me want to keep going, haha. I still have a few of these beer-bottle carriers in other colors, so I’m planning to pair each one with different leftover ROWOOD flowers when I get a free afternoon.
