There is something magical about a booknook - a tiny world hidden between books, waiting to be discovered.
My first booknook was Sunshine Town, a little piece of charm I brought home from a trip. Finishing it and turning on the lights amidst books on the shelf opened a small window into another world.
Then came my Shakespear Bookstore, a cozy little corner fill with the feeling of stories, quiet afternoons, and endless imagination. Just like the books - each of these kits holds a different adventure waiting to unfold.
My most recent build and my latest favorite is the Sakura Densya, which personalized with bits and pieces from past vacations with my family. This kit is special because it’s more difficult to plan things now that both kids are working.
Here’s a photo of my booknook collection with my Sunset Carnival. I removed them from the bookshelf to take this photo since the bookshelf was a bit messy.
What I love most about these booknooks is the way the lights transform them. When they shine in the dark, these tiny spaces feel alive - like little memories, little stories, and little places I can escape to.
I never expected one booknook to turn into a growing collection, but now I find myself wanting to build more.
Three tiny worlds so far … and hopefully many more to come.
This is such a beautiful collection! I love how each book nook has its own little story and memory attached to it, especially Sakura Densya with pieces from your family trips
What a beautiful collection! I completely understand what you mean about book nooks feeling magical. There’s something so special about seeing them tucked between books, especially when the lights come on and suddenly a tiny world appears right on your shelf. I love that each of your book nooks represents a different chapter of your life, from travels, favorite stories, and family memories. The Sakura Densya sounds especially meaningful, knowing it was inspired by your vacations together. Those personal touches always make a build even more special. And honestly, I think every collector starts with “just one” and then somehow ends up wanting more! Your collection is absolutely lovely, and I can’t wait to see what tiny world joins your bookshelf next.
I have all of these kits in my stash. They look amazing @Gidge. And they really shine with their lights on as well. Thanks so much for sharing your little shelf.
