So I was able to complete this today finally with a little bit of time. I’m glad it was fast. This kit was interesting. Had a lot of little nuances that made it a little bit challenging. The flowers weren’t too bad as most of them were already created, and I just had to use some license to make sure that they were correctly displayed. Overall, I think the kit came out very, very nice. It’s very homey, very cozy and full of life.
Some of the modifications that I did, I added a couple more butterflies to the posts, flowers I added some birds on top of the house as well because I felt that needed it as well. I also added a golden ring on a chain around the little hobbit that came with it, he hasn’t glued down so he can move wherever he needs to as well. I airbrushed a couple items such as the wood pile in the front, some vegetables to make them more realistic
The only marker I used was the furniture marker on some edges as the bare wood stood out but this kit is rustic so I didn’t want to inhibit or detract from that
Challenges that I had were the battery box on the bottom just would not work to get me to close it I wound up taping it with some scotch tape on the bottom and as you won’t be able to see it and the touch system is on the top of the chimney, I figured it wouldn’t be any harm. Overall, I think this kit has been very very well. I loved all the greenery which I thought I would have a problem with, but it really really is nice. I definitely suggest trying it just to give it a whirl if you ever see it or if it’s on sale !
