The first time I used those I didn’t realize they had protective covers so the build has “smoky” glass. I just consider it a window glaze that keeps the heat out.

It would be good if extra transparent sheets are included. I have often gotten glue marks on the sheet and instead of getting a new sheet have just put up with a bit of glue smudge but it does annoy me.

Don’t be too disappointed. You can take a break to spend time on other hobbies or work on another project while you wait.

Oh Sofie, I am sorry! I have certainly done that and put on wrong side but luckily removed in time. Yeah it was a little messy but I got it off. Otherwise some craft and hobby stores sell acetate sheets. I know Cricut online does. Also those bags the stickers and paper come in, may work.
Unsure what you actually did so do not know if this will help
