Here with update #2 for Dora’s Loft! Today is my third day off so I’ve had a little time to work on my build, and man, has there been a lot of wire work!
Now, it’s nots completely perfect, but in my defence, it’s not completely perfect in the picture in the manual either! I think I did pretty good with the skills I have. The deck board is a little warped so I’ll definitely be doing some heavy glueing to flatten it out once I assemble the whole build!
Next up is this little chair and table! The chair is made out of like a cardstock and wire. I had to assemble everything and then paint, same with the wire part of the table! It was a little nerve racking to paint all the wire once it was assembled because I was scared I’d break it, but it went well.
Here’s a couple more items! Some cat related stuff ( you have to make a cat out of clay later in the build) and a stool and table. The little stool is comically small to me compared to all the other items! But it’s just used a little table to hold a watering can on the little roof garden.
And finally some little wire accessories! These definitely took a bit of time to complete, I have been working on them since last evening and then this morning! Thankfully they are the last of the wire work for a while and I get a bit of a break to do some normal stuff now!
Despite all the challenging technical work, I am having a lot of fun with this build so far! I am glad it’s a build I decided to try after like 20 other builds, you definitely need some experience and practiced skills for this one. Anywho, that’s all I really have to share for now! I hope everyone has been having a great weekend, and I’ll talk to ya’ll next week when I have more to share! Thanks for reading!
In what order did you make the wiring of the deck? First the whits one and the 2 black ones after that? I have done a little wire bending but this scares me
How do you keep the horizontal black wires from falling then? I would have done the vertical ones first to place the white one on top and then the horizontal black one against the vertical ones.
It’s kind of hard to explain. Each white wire section is one piece. So I had the white wire with the vertical part face down on the mat, and then glued the black wire to the vertical parts of the white wire, B-7000 is pretty good at holding everything in place. After both wires were attached, I glued the 2 vertical black wires on to the back!
As someone who’s been through the hell that Dora’s loft is.
LET ME GIVE YOU A STANDING OVATION! Because WHAT in the otherworldly perfection is photo No.9? The wire work is perfect and so neat and so immaculate! I knew you would do an amazing job. I’m not even sure if I ended up painting the chair and table, I remember changing the colours because my kit didn’t come with paint.
I am totally in awe of you…. I can’t get my wires to stick for terrace I’ve given up. I am finding this build sssoooo challenging I don’t think I’ll ever complete it… can’t wait to see yours complete. How did you get the white grate cut out so well. I destroyed mine and had to try to recreate it….my hands aren’t so steady so my cuts are a bit dodgy. Honestly I’m so impressed with your talent.
I just used a normal craft knife! I think the most important thing is making sure your knife if nice and sharp or else the knife will drag the paper instead of cutting it nicely. I’d almost put a fresh blade in to do something as technical as that! I also really like the OLFA brand for my knife and scissors, it’s a Japanese brand, but you can find it on Amazon! Thank you so much for your compliments!
Brah, some people paint, some people bend wire, it’s just how it is … HAHAHAHA JK Thanks so much for your compliments homie, you know the time and patience it takes to do good work! Also, the MLP’s hair are so nice They are all so pretty!
