So I didn’t get it finished today as I thought I would, but the tree is done and most of the greenery. The edge painting of the parts of the tree took FOREVER.
I have gotten further than the photos below, but I am holding off on showing the sides in place as it will spoil tomorrow’s reveal.
I have more greenery to do tomorrow, a few little final touches and the case to assemble.
I also added a new tool to my arsenal. My mini car vacuum. It’s crevasse tool made short work of removing all the excess grass after the glue had dried.
@chamelionboy Edge painting tree pieces really is a test of patience, but it makes such a massive difference in the final look!
Also, using a mini car vacuum for the static grass/flock is an absolute genius move! I’m definitely stealing that trick. Can’t wait for the full reveal!
It’s been sitting on the shelf behind me, and I use it to clean my desk after every build. I can’t believe I never thought about using it sooner for removing excess grass from previous models.
Thanks Robotime. The tree took me about 4 hours to finish due to the painting. It’s the main reason I didn’t get the model finished today like I thought I would.
You’ve made so much progress already! The tree looks amazing, and I can totally imagine how long that edge painting must have taken. I love that you found a mini car vacuum to tackle all the excess grass too, such a clever addition to your crafting toolkit! Now I’m definitely looking forward to tomorrow’s reveal.
