I’m not sure how many of you remember when I won a miniature tool kit from a company called jiffy I think? I just wanted to warn you that I received a bill today from FedEx. I don’t even have a FedEx account. When I looked at the bill charges, it is for this kit that was delivered to me. I won it on Instagram and never agreed to pay any shipping charges that they never told me about. Just be aware. The total bill came to $10. 80. Not sure how but it did. Edit: this was not Jiffy but Crafts & co.

I recently had a situation where they called me to arrange for the delivery of a model and asked me to transfer the money. I always pay upfront, so I requested to see the item before paying, and they couldn’t trick me.

I WON this in a giveaway…so I never actually ordered it. That is why I found it strange that FedEX is trying to charge ME now. MANY years ago, ther used to be a thing called COD (Cash on delivery). I don’t think that happens anymore. I am going to refuse to pay and tell them to bill the sender. This is crazy. I can’t send someone else a gift and then expect that they would be billed by FEDEX. I thought it always has to be paid by the sender. (in advance). They just brought it to my doorstep…a month ago.

That’s right. This fee should be paid by the sender. I once had a situation where a brand called to deliver a gift and asked me to pay for shipping. I immediately refused because I really didn’t need the gift; I didn’t even know what it was.

You’re welcome @jeanneL . This was an Instagram thing and they did send me a message that said…Oh, we have never mailed to US before…but we can make it happen. NEVER did they mention that I would have to pay for the delivery.
That’s a bit unfair really. I wouldn’t pay it.
So strange, right? I don’t know, but I think you’re doing the right thing by saying you’re not going to pay for it. I hope you can get it sorted out soon.

That is strange. I know the brand as it is sold in shops here. Their quality is terrible. I would not pay to receive a kit i won.

I know of cash on delivery but it’s never a thing here in New Zealand. But either way it’s wild having you pay for delivery. 
The sender should’ve informed you of this and I probably would’ve declined the prize.

That’s really strange. I bought the tool set here in a store for about 4 euros. It’s really strange that you have to pay for a prize you won.

I sent them an email and they replied. They said they would reimburse me thru Paypal or I could send them my banking information. I don’t have Paypal and won’t be sending them my banking info. I am going to tell them that they can just pay FedEX . @Tricia12

I won’t. I am sending them the invoice number and payment info and all. I’m not sharing any information. They already had my address and I don’t have a FEDEX account for them to charge anything further. @Tkaplan
