Does anyone else use an ipad to access this website? I have noticed a few issues over the last weeks to month or so.
when entering a reply or new topic, my field box is very small and I cannot see below line 1 without closing my keyboard. I can scroll but it is covered up by the buttons on top or the "Create Topic / Discard buttons on bottom left.
When tagging someone the choice of people will shake very fast and my choice may be right or may be the one above or below. Also it may choose one of the top icons since it hovers over those. Or it will do nothing at all.
I never had these problems in the past. Ideas? and yes I am updated on everything. I access this via internet and website.I clear my browser regularly as well.
This reply is from an iPad mini and using a Bluetooth keyboard. If you are going to use an iPad then purchase a small Bluetooth keyboard to type. Without a separate keyboard trying to type on the iPad and review what you are typing is EXTREMELY frustrating to say the least. It also matters are you in portrait or landscape orientation. I find the portrait mode even harder to use versus the landscape mode. It’s not this site, it’s the format use of DISCORD and this site that is driving the problem you , I and others experience. The problem lies in when this site was developed it was not designed as a mobile first approach, rather it used a desktop . Laptop sized screen. Which means anything smaller such as an iPad or worse a mobile phone screen will have issues. Websites do not automatically adapt to different size screens, and, sites have too much content being shown. The Robotime site is chock full of too much content, however, it seems to have been designed a large screen format and we all live with these decisions that are now not easy to overcome short of a full re-design of the site. I have a mini Bluetooth keyboard it is the only way to go when using an iPad of any size.
Unfortunately no, it is scaleable up not down. So if the design did not start with a mobile phone screen size then layout for scaling upwards, things will happen and issues will arise when trying to view on a small screen what looks great on a larger one. Then compound it all with a tonne of static/hyperlink graphics like this site design has and it snowballs quickly into many different issues. The most annoying is the extremely small popup that allows us all to type anything. It’s a common error when they start planning a website design whereby they (planners and programmers) do not fully map out the user’s ( we are the users) requirements properly for the UI (user interface).
I don’t usually use an iPad to access this website, but when I use my iPhone, I do experience some lag. It’s not to the point where the text field becomes really small, though. Hopefully this issue has already been fixed on your end.
I always use my phone for this community. The only problem is that when I go to the chat, there are no icons at the top, and it’s difficult to return to the overview. Everything else works fine.
