I decided to open up the wooden train kit I found at the thrift store, and it looks even more detailed than I expected.
There are a lot of pieces, and the structure seems pretty complex compared to some of the other builds I’ve done. One thing that really stood out to me is that part of the mechanism actually uses toothpicks, which I thought was really interesting.
At the same time, it also makes the build seem a bit more challenging, especially since smaller parts and tighter fits can sometimes be harder to work with.
I haven’t started building it yet, but based on what I’ve seen so far, it looks like it’s going to take some patience.
For anyone who’s built something similar — does it get tricky, or is it manageable if you take your time?
That looks like a really fun challenge! It might feel tricky at first, but if you take your time it’s usually very manageable, and super satisfying in the end. Good luck!
It requires a lot of sanding and waxing. Just follow the instruction carefully. Need to do it in a complete order. Pat attention to direction of parts and gears. That will determine whether it will run smoothly or not.
Hey Zoe_Lau, wow that wooden train kit does look like quite the challenge but knowing your enthusiasm I bet you are ready to conquer it piece by piece. We can’t wait to see your progress and cheer you on every step of the way. Keep that excitement rolling!
