[Unboxing] Mail Day: My First Flower Kit (Orchid) 🌸

I just received an orchid kit in the mail, and I’m really excited about this one because it’s my first time trying a flower build.

Up until now, most of the kits I’ve done have been more structured builds, so this feels like something a little different. I’m curious to see how the process compares and how the final result turns out.

The packaging also stood out to me right away. It looks really pretty, and the unboxing experience was actually really nice. I especially liked the paper envelope style packaging, which made it feel a bit more special and fun to open.

One thing that stood out to me right away is that the vase part uses pop-out perforated paper pieces, which I’ve never worked with before. I’m interested to see how that comes together and how it compares to the wooden parts I’m used to.

The design already looks really nice just from looking through the pieces, and I’m especially interested in how the colors and details will come together.

I’m looking forward to getting started on this one soon.

I live the vases and how well they fit together. I’ve heard that some of the flowers are too heavy so putting something a bit heavier in the bottom of the vase to counteract that may be required.

It’s a beautiful kit…but be careful as some pieces may not pop out as easily as others. Use a craft knife to avoid breakage. Also, some sanding and/or waxing may be helpful to install stubborn pieces.

That’s a great tip. I’ve been experiencing some breakage where the top layer comes off, including the color. I’ve tried to glue it back and sand it but it isn’t perfect.

Thanks! I’ll keep you updated.

Thank you! I definitely will enjoy it.

A razor knife is a must have…and so is the sandpaper and wax. Best of luck to you. I’ve done two of these. One for myself and one with my great niece.

I would love to have this. I love purple so I bought the lilac flower but that was the hardest of all the flowers I built. Hopefully this one is a bit easy :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m not a big fan of flower kits; I’d rather give them away, haha.

But I do love fresh flowers. I have four orchids at home.
