Tiny Sushi, Big Memories

This is one of my very first miniature builds, which I did almost 2 years ago—and it still makes me smile every time I look at it. :yellow_heart:

It’s not a Rolife kit, but it was one of the projects that made me fall in love with the miniature hobby all over again.

A little background - My first attempt was way back in the late 90’s / early 2000’s, there was this magazine about miniatures in London (forgot what it was called), and each month, there would be a different furniture to build. I would get so excited and buy one each time. Sadly, it didn’t work well for me then, so I stopped buying it - and my love for miniatures was shelved.

But seeing so many miniature kits now, I decided to give it another try. I am so glad I did. I had so much fun putting together this tiny sushi bar, and my absolute favorite part? The sushi! :sushi: Every little nigiri, maki roll, and sashimi piece is packed with adorable detail. They almost look good enough to eat :face_savoring_food: … if only they weren’t miniature!

Of course, every great sushi restaurant needs happy customers, so I invited some of my favorite Sanrio characters to stop by for a meal. They definitely made the whole scene feel more lively, playful, and full of personality.

Looking back, it’s fun to see how much my crafting has improved since then, but this little sushi bar will always have a special place in my heart because it reminds me where my miniature journey began.

Now I’m curious… if you could have dinner or visit any miniature shop you’ve built, which one would you choose? :bento_box::sparkles:

I probably would if I run out of kits to build. But you go! Changing a thing or two in older builds will make it look brand new
