Well..if there is any truth in the saying “Slow and steady wins the race”, then I am definietly WINNING , LOL!
The average build time for this one says 5 1/2 to 8 hours. I am well over the 8 and I have about 1/3 completed. NO painting on this one (shocker, I know), but I didn’t paint my Marble Night City about 2 years ago
when I first started doing wooden puzzles. If I choose to connect it with the link pack at a later date, I want it to have the same look. On a good note, I am done with the gears and I haven’t had to razor many parts out which is a bit harder with the splint so that makes me happy. This is model #98.
Looking great. I take time with my build too and as long it’s working properly. That’s the most important.
Yay you started it!! ![]()
I think you’re doing awesome for having a splint! Happy to see your update! ![]()
Thank you @Tricia12
Well, I couldn’t just sit around doing nothing…LOL! Can’t work so I’m going a bit crazy over here…
@Atropex
Which of the marble runs link together with the link kit? I didnt know this was a thing!
I think I would be this slow as well. Nooks you can fudge some things, but with a mechanical build I would be so nervous about not getting something lined up right.
The Spaceport can link up with Marble Night City which is an older model…BUT I have seen MANY people say that the motor (that comes with this one) is not powerful enough to keep it moving well. They have belts and stuff that connect the two…but I don’t know if I ever will. @Nectarines
For me, I am just bringing parts down to my lap and pushing them in…If that’s not doable, then I stand to do so…I am getting quite handy with the left hand…but not handy enough for such tiny things… @eeekthekat First test run was perfect.
It’s looking good already . It’s better to build up slowly and effectively than to rush and forget something and find it doesn’t work. And don’t forget you’re still injured. How’s your elbow? Is it getting any better?
Thanks @ Liset. You know it’s killing me to see those raw edges, right?
Since I doubt I might ever join it to the Marble City Night run…with each piece I install, I think to myself…( this would’ve been so cool in XYZ colors). As for my elbow, I won’t know till I see the doc next Monday. There is still fluid coming out because I have to remove the splint and clean it daily.
This will be really cool when you are done!
Ah ok thats a really cool idea!! I dont know that i ever will either but it sounds super fun!
…but only if it works properly… @Nectarines This is why I am never the first to jump on the bandwagon when a new thing comes out. I wait and watch for others experiences. I am so happy that I received the Space Shuttle as a mystery gift…because SO many have struggled with it. For me, once I got past the testing stage, zero problems. Works beautifully. The Dream Gift Factory is the only model I ordered as soon as I saw it.
Thank you! @jeanneL
Haha, I know, I wouldn’t be able to handle it myself either and I’d have to restrain myself from painting the edges.
I’m a nurse specializing in wound healing, and I know that these kinds of wounds can take a long time to close. The inflammation has to be completely gone before it closes.
Ugh! I hate hearing that…but I’m so glad that you told me. I guess I need to ask more questions of the doctors I see as no one has told me this. Five surgeries with large wounds and they all healed in great time. This hole is the size of a tiny screwdriver head. Thanks for the info @Liset
Gasp no painting?!
Jokes aside I hope you have fun and take care of your elbow lol
Your welcome if you want to know something you can ask me in the chat for some advise ![]()
I am breaking out of my mold on this one…LOL! The two have to match if I EVER decide to join them. @JDisaduck
