Hello. I am currently building the space shuttle set, and have reached the power on test 2, as the title states. After having run it a few times, I’ve realized that the arm and the horizontal slider seems to be out of sync. When I pressed the button first, the arm would fly into the retracted position like usual, but when the horizontal part slid fully out, the arm would rotate back in, and the lights would flash to indicate the system was reset. How do I fix this issue?
Welcome! I am not currently at home with my directions…BUT I am thinking that your problem could be with a round notched piece on top of the roof of the tower. It sounds to me as if the teeth are not matched up correctly. Instructions are very specific and must be followed to a T. Without my instructions nearby, this is the only thing that comes to mind. I hope this helps
Welcome to community. Tou can ask @CustomerService for help
Often Customer service asks for a picture or video. You can add this to original post. At bottom choose the pencil. This allows you to edit and add. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED HELP ADDING A PICTURE. (sorry for caps) at the top of post, is a little block with an arrow going up (5th from right). click on that and you can upload a pic
Hello, thanks for the message. After removing the pieces to access the notches again, the notches were lined up as they were supposed to. The problem seems to be from the arm and slider being out of sync. When I pressed the button now, after fixing the arm and slider to the correct positions, the arm will fly open as normal, but the slider will jam onto itself, and when it finally extends after me pressing the button to override the motors stopping system, it extends fully but the arm rotates back into the original position like intended, and the lights flash.
Oh dear…I am so sorry to hear that. Did you sand and wax all of the gears, cogs and slides thoroughly?
Hellooo welcome to the community.
It seems hard to build.
I absolutely loved this build and once I got past the testing part which is the first step, everything went very smoothly. It’s an amazing model and it is in my top three of favorites. This one along with the dream gift Factory and the London marble run are top notch models @serenebliss_23
I think it’s hard to do this.
How long did you build your space shuttle?
I did mine a few months ago. I think it took me around 7 days…but I painted every piece as well. It was worth every minute spent on it. I never try to keep track of the hours spent on my models anymore. 👍 [ROKR DIY & Creativity] Completion of my custom Space Shuttle
Yes, I have sanded all the parts, as well as waxed them. I think the video would show clearer what’s happening.
I watched it again…and the only thing I can think of is that part in the top where the teeth have to meet up a certain way. Sorry I can’t find your solution.
I see what you mean, but I think the problem is the slider. The slider is fully extended when the lights flash, but the arm is in the correct place when the lights flash.
Hmmm…yeah, I am bit stumped on this one.
Welcome to the community @mudrook . Hope you will find a solution to it soon.
I saw your space shuttle and I’m so amazed. You have painted it sooo perfect. I love every detail of your space shuttle.
Thank you very much. I’ve painted probably 90 out of 100 models and the details matter to me. It takes a lot more time but I don’t mind doing that at all. I want them to be the best that they can be.
You’re welcome.
Did you paint your kits after building them or before? I don’t know which is better because I painted mine before building and I’ve struggled fitting them piece by piece. ![]()
I always paint mine before building because it is much easier to do the small details on a flat surface. If a part does get paint on it and it won’t insert properly, I simply sand and or wax it
Oh okay. I will take your tips to sand the paint. Thanks. In terms of waxing, I don’t have any idea how it should be done. Maybe I’ll watch on yt or search in google.
