Simons cafe , anyone?

Has anyone built Simons cafe before? How did you get on? I prefer to have numbers printed on the wood and for parts to join. I’m having to mess about with the giant paper that tells me which bit is which and fighting a tub of glue at same time. So far I have managed to glue the bar stool to my lip and the paper to my eyes!:rofl:

Congratulations on your lip and eye experience! I’ve had a finger and lip experience before, but I haven’t had the eye one yet.:rofl:

:joy: I’m sorry for the laugh but the vision of you with a bar stool stuck to your lips has made my day.
Seriously, I haven’t made it myself but I have found sorting your parts out before you start will help with this.

I too am laughing about the bar stool. Look at the bright side…if you had been building the bible bath super creator, it could have been a pair of bunny slippers… How cute would that be? I have not built this one …but I hope your luck changes. I am struggling as well today.

I would say that you will find that several people have done this build. I just don’t happen to be one of them, so I can only offer a good luck and enjoy the build! You will do great!

You can use glue stick on papers to woods. It’s more neat to use than a glue or use a paintbrush with thin bristles so your hands will not get dirty from the glue. Try to fit the woods on the materials list so you can get an idea more if you’re using the right wood in a particular object.

You made me laugh so much. I did it. These old sets require meticulousness and patience because you have to glue them carefully. Congratulations, you’ll gain more experience.

Oh my goodness …I feel so bad for laughing at you…or WITH you. My fate has been returned. While trying to get my cotton cotton (plastic Qtips painted pink) to stick together…they have stuck everywhere except where they need to be…as my fingers are NOT their final destination.

Defo laughing with me! Hope you haven’t stuck to many pink Q tips to yourself :joy:

Hahahahah thanks so much for the laugh that’s the older style kit for you!

I personally enjoy the challenge but it only came about after many mishaps similar to the ones you’ve described. You’ve got this but take as many breaks as you need to. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I have been building a piece at a time. I may need to get another kit , just so I can build something whilst waiting for parts to dry on that kit .

I do enjoy the older ones but I’m very impatient and want it to to dry instantly ..good job it dont because id look funny taking daughter to school with my bar stool lip lol :rofl:

HahahHaha stop you’re having me in stitches! Imagine rocking up to your daughter’s school looking like that, it’s giving struggles. :joy:

But yes get another easy one to build in between. Lots of people work on two builds at once. You don’t want to feel burnt out.

I think i might have to spend time removing parts that I have stuck on myself in-between building or ungluing my eyelids. :joy::joy::joy:
