Sharing My Passion for Miniatures with My Students

The other day, I was talking with my 10-year-old students about miniature houses and showed them lots of photos of the kits I’ve built. One of the girls told me she’s building a miniature just like mine — I can’t wait for her to show me a picture!

Saying they were eager to see them in person would be an understatement. So I thought… why not try building something together? Since a full DIY miniature house would be too much to bring to class, I came up with a simpler idea.

At home, I have two unbuilt Rowood flowers — a Sunflower and a Red Camellia. My plan is to take one to class, assemble it together as a group, and then use it to decorate our classroom.

What do you think of the idea? Which one would you bring?

What a great idea. Maybe you can ask robotime to send some simple kits to you that you can make with the kids and then let them take the finished kits home as a lasting memory. I would make the red flower in this case

That’s such a lovely idea! I really like the thought of letting them take their creations home — it would make a wonderful memory for them. And yes, the red flower sounds perfect for that! What do you think about that @Robotime??

That’s fantastic that you bring that to the classroom to build it together. Great way to connect with the students.

I thought the same!! :see_no_evil_monkey:
It would be like a workshop, but instead of for adults, it’d be for kids

I feel that building something together could be a great project for teamwork — encouraging collaboration, communication, and cooperation among them

I think the sunflower would be much easier… depending on the age of the kids.

We need to get children back to working with their hands, as a team. I think this is wonderful! You cant go wrong with whatever you choose!

At school, we try to do that. The problem is that even the government is pushing education toward a more technological way of learning. We’ll see where that takes us

Oh dear. Such a struggle. I just wish you the best in your heartfelt endeavours @Wenbare . In a world where you can make as much money using your hands as you can using your mind…I love to see people opening this door. Kudos!
