This ROKR Storm Beetle Model DIY 3D Puzzle MI03 became my first puzzle from Robotime and ROKR. Assembling it took me much longer than planned. I think I spent about 9 hours on it.
But it wasn’t for me. Since my boyfriend doesn’t like doing puzzles, I assembled it for him and gave it as a gift. He was amazed that the beetle can light up and move its wings! Actually, my boyfriend prefers collecting frogs, but even he jumped for joy like a child over this gift! Haha. It’s really cute.
Maybe in the future I’ll show you his huge collection of frog items, if you’re interested of course
I’m not a fan of the metal structures, but I think my nephew will love them, since he’s crazy about insects and wants to be a biologist. This would be a nice gift for him next birthday.
The most difficult part was connecting all the wires and mechanisms together. If you make a mistake, the wings won’t work. I spent several hours just on this part alone
I’m glad your boyfriend liked the beetle. Personally, I’m not a big fan of bugs, so those kinds of kits don’t really catch my attention. The only one I find cute and appealing is the butterfly one, this one:
