This is very similar to the Bloomin wooden basket, except that that one went much better. I am unsure if it is the dryness or what but I have had a break in almost everything I have touched. The only thing that went well was the sunflower! And that is not saying much considering I have spent alot of time but only completed the bow, the Eucalyptis and the sunflower.
Started with the bow. I decided to paint it gold instead of the silver. Let it dry, then when I went to place the bow (part that is flexible) it just cracked. I didnt even really stretch it or need to. I circled the part that cracked.
I then started on the Eucalyptis and I cracked all 4 somewhere. whether a stem at the bottom, a leaf, or stem at top! I guess that is what I get for taking a break from it!
Well here is what I have thus far and thank God for super glue!
When painting, the paint will tend to add thickness. I would’ve have painted the bow AFTER building it because paint will get into those little cracks that allow it to bend. I also painted my eucalyptus after building.
If something is not fitting as it should and I feel like it might break, I always sand…but won’t EVER wax before painting…because paint doesn’t stick well to wax.
Sorry to hear that you’ve been having such a difficult time with this! Everything still looks great and you’ve done a good job at fixing everything! Still excited to see what then end product is going to look like, really curious about the big wrap that goes around it!
Yeah I am unsure which wrap I will use. I do not think the vase choice unless I find something special. Thanks and I will not give up. I will forge ahead gently
