After a day of painting, I finished the next part. After a good night’s sleep, I knew which colors I wanted to use. I think the gold and green look really nice together.
The hands were painted white, so I carefully sanded them down and painted them black with a black acrylic marker. A tool from an earlier kit came in handy for letting them dry.
I haven’t shared this before, but this is how I always have my paint ready. I thoroughly wet the sponge in the middle. I use it to dampen my brushes when the paint is a bit thick (it’s especially helpful to dampen the brush a bit before painting small details). I also use it to rinse my brushes. I tap the sponge a few times with the flat side of the brush to rinse it clean. then I gently rub the brush over the sponge to dry it a bit
Thank you @Nita_Davis I used to wash my brushes constantly, but I didn’t like having to go to the faucet every time. Cleaning with the sponge is much faster than rinsing under the faucet. Now I don’t have to rinse the brushes anymore. Just make sure the sponge is thoroughly wet
Thank you @Suzanne_Jones I saw the dark green combination at @Nita_Davis and thought it went really well together. I think it would also look great on this building.
It’s looking fantastic, @Liset!
The gold and green work beautifully together. And that trick with sanding and repainting the clock hands is so smart! Thanks for sharing your paint setup too, that sponge tip is really useful, especially for small details.
