This little bubble coming out of the nose is a sleepy snot bubble. Just like the figure’s closed eyes, it means the character is dozing off. The Nanci figures themselves embody serenity, calm, and tranquility. That’s why their appearance is so touching and soothing to us

They could also be depicting a toddler or infant. Because toddlers often have snot.
