Olivia has continued a little more with the marble run and she has written a short update for you all
For those who may not know, Olivia is my 15 year old daughter and she is building the marble climber as a school project, (we homeschool and her teacher is pretty awesome, clearly )
Hi Robotime community,
Recently I’ve started building the marble climber and it’s been really fun but difficult at the same time, there’s some tiny orange sleeve shafts and they can be difficult to put onto the steel shafts, I’ve had to re do some bits though because I connected them wrong but it was a super easy fix, the instructions are really easy to follow and read though! I have loved building this so far!
I havent had to help much at all, only once when she had put something together wrong and then she tried to blame the instructions for being wrong and i told her that in my experience Robotime was never wrong and we were its been really fun to watch her progress and problem solve, i cant wait until she gets that feeling of acomplishment when she finishes and runs a marble through!
That is awesome! The bet the marble runs are great STEM projects! If she can do the marble run she can do anything. Those marble runs look pretty involved.
I think the robotime instructions are so good that they make it very user friendly! I am hoping she ends up loving this enough for me to get her something else for Christmas
She will be 16 in January and she can have her own account on here she could now but they are about to ban social media for under 16s on the 10th of December in Aus so she will just have to wait a month longer haha
Olivia is doing an amazing job!! It’s so fun to see her learning and problem-solving on her own. That marble run is no easy kit. I can’t wait for her to feel that big moment of accomplishment when the first marble goes through!
