@Clarerelph82 I think I need to take a step back from the housework sometimes too, and proritise myself instead. Or maybe delegate more!
@Wenbare its scary how quickly the burnout creeps in. Im trying hard to avoid it this year, but I know when things get busy my natural tendency is to put myself last and prioritise everything else instead.
@Nita_Davis thank you! The wire rack was certainly a challenge!
@Tkaplan thank you! Its more often the work I bring home that gets in the way for me, but I’m trying to keep a better balance. I have a few things tonight that have to be done for tomorrow, but I will leave the less urgent things for the weekend so I can also get some time for myself this evening ![]()
Hi @valleyggoo they are called semesters here too!
Exams every few weeks is wild… are you a teacher or a student?
@Jerry_Boswijk I think l may have a look around for some of the easier kits for when I’m more time poor. Ive mostly completed the fully DIY ones in the past but I agree that they are harder to work on for a short amount of time
@serenebliss_23 I work every day too and I bring home work for the evenings often. But Im trying to make sure I get at least two nights a week where I can relax and work on my kits too!
Hi @Lacey this is the fully DIY / original version. The shelf is a challenge! But totally doable!
Lol @Carmie I will need to do the same when I retire to keep me in kits! ![]()
@Jill_Francisco thank you ![]()
@JDisaduck much respect for switching out crafting for a nap! I have a short nap most afternoons after school, especially if Ive been teaching the younger year levels. They have so much energy!
Yes deffo. Sometimes we just get consumed with all responsibilities that we forget about ourselfs. X
A medical student
so our program is quite hectic specially since it’s my last year
Thanks !
I make sure to set aside intentional pockets of time, even when things get hectic. For myself, that often means carving out quiet moments—like reading, journaling, or simply unplugging from screens—to recharge and reset. I also plan my schedule so that family time is non‑negotiable.
Yes, that’s okay. We have our own pace. At least you’re still making time on your kits at least twice a week. It’s still a progress. ![]()
Nice picture and details! It looks so smooth already, great job!
For me… Sometimes I just sacrifice some sleep time. I go to work, I come back, I prepare lunch for the next day, I have something for dinner, and then before bed and instead of playing videogames or turning the TV on, I relax by building a bit.
The same thing happens to me. I’m also someone who pushes myself too hard and doesn’t know when to stop until I’ve reached a burnout point that I don’t really know how to fix. Anyway, let’s see if it’s true that with age I’ll gain experience, get better at this, and take better care of myself.
I usually set aside 2 hours per day to focus on doing miniature kits. It’s always after work, and not during nights that I will do social dancing. I find it will be tiring for me to try doing both at the same day. I do want to try polymer clay soon!
Yeah i hate it when im in full focus mode and am glueing a complicated part and have to stop to go to work.
