Thank you so much @aga2713 :hugs: I hope it works out and otherwise I’ll just have to keep painting the edges

I can totally understand…I certainly regretted doing the backdrop on the teacup ride…because it was primed with whit bonding primer. Even though it was a very light coat, it was very hard to see where my lines should go when painting the new colors…AND it took about 5 coats for my red…LOL!

I’m hesitant to paint it because it turned out so ugly with the Melody Tree, but I think the brown color is too dark. I’m going to try it on a piece of the sheet first and see what happens. Hopefully, it will work.

Yes! I always test on the scrap areas.

You’re welcome. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: You’re one of the people that I’m admiring here when it comes to painting or coloring. Ohh i don’t know what it looks like. If you mess up, I know you’ll find a way to make it prettier since you have the talent for that.

Turning pieces inside out is something I often do ( in order to avoid multiple coats)..but they are acrylic on BOTH sides…so prep work still needs to be done. @SunnyCee This is if they are ACRYLIC. Looking back on the pics…this appears to be just a finish over wood.

Looking again at these sheets and they are not actually acrylic parts…scuff sand and paint with no worries. That does not appear to be plastic in the last pic…Just my opinion. If it is thick and you can see wood grain around edges, it is not an "acrylic piece.

Thank you very much @serenebliss_23 you give me some confidence… but if I mess it up now I don’t know how to fix it

I don’t know how i can explain what kind of material this is. Did you made the melody tree? This is the same material like the cross above the tunnel entrance. I think this also applies to the Dream Gift Factory on the curve above the Christmas tree. it looks like paper with a kind of acrylic layer over it

Be honest, I never think about on repaint the kit since I got the Cuckoo Clock… But when I join the community then I was feel.. FANTASTIC! :star_struck: It can be like this! Currently I don’t have any plain kit yet but I’m sure I will learn from you all try to paint my kit in the future :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

You can definitely paint it…without a bonding primer. If it is paper, just be aware to try to keep it as flat as possible…using weights after it is dry. If there is a sheen on the finished side, sanding will always help for adhesion. If the price is reversible…I very often opt for flipping it over and doing the back side. It appears that all of yours are symmetrical so you would be able to do so.

It’s actually not quite hard to do so at all. Give it a try. @Kit_Mun We are always here to help along the way.

It’s so much fun to paint the builds. If you want to start painting, it is wise to start with a structure that has not been painted beforehand, as this is often easier to paint.
